1) View the diamond in various lighting conditions. Dealers prefer to present their items in ideal lighting conditions. Ensure that the jewelry matches your skin tone by getting a mirror and placing it against your side.

2) Check out various shapes. Different shapes reflect light differently. For example, a round and square cut diamond reflects more light compared to a rectangular cut diamond.
