    December 17th, 2010JewelleryFanChristmas, Gifts

Every time people are late in buying gifts, especially men they eventually end up buying silver jewellery to their partners for Christmas. It’s true! Some of us are so negligent that we only care about Christmas gifts when its 48 hours to Christmas. And then we turn in to jewellery because that is the easiest way out when buying someone a gift. I got away with that last few years but this year my wife has said that if I buy her a jewellery again she will not buy me with the car accessories I require.

So this year I have prepared a lovely mean for us to in a glamorous restaurant in London and on top of that booked a holiday for January. So that should be good present shouldn’t it? I hope so. I just hope that she gets me the right car accessories that I asked otherwise I will be doomed. On the other hand I am worried about another thing that I have not bought a present for my mother and mother in law so seems like jewellery it certainly will be for them. I am also worried about buying quality jewellery that does not tarnish in the swimming pool.

Hopefully they will accept it with grace, which I am sure they will. Merry Christmas everyone!

Shopping for the Holidays can be somewhat as fun as watching paint dry. To make shopping more fun…Give Coffee Gift Baskets a try this Christmas season.

Can you believe it is Holiday shopping time again? Are you thinking about thank that new customer, or client? Enough of the stress talk. So, you need a reliable way to shop for friends and show your appreciation for your patrons. Yes it is this easy: Gift baskets!

When you think about gift baskets, what do you think of? My favorite gift baskets are filled with coffee, cookies and chocolate, topped with a perfect bow and just waiting to be unwrapped. But there are many options.

There are gift basket companies that fill gift baskets with just about anything you can think of. Some companies let you pick the items that you want to put in the basket! So how do you pick the ideal gift basket for your family, friends or client? Here are a few simple guidelines.

    • Choose a gift basket that reflects what he/she loves. Are they into “socially conscious” living? Then choose a basket that features Fair Trade and Organic items like coffee, mugs and gifts from Nectar of Life Coffee Company. Or perhaps they love fresh fruit, wine, nuts, and vegetables. Then a gift from Harry and David would be just the thing for the fruit lover. Pre-Made baskets can range in price from $9.99 – $500+. But, gift baskets can be a Godsend.

    • There is also the choice of making a basket of your own. I know it sounds challenging, but it can be very easy, and you can enjoy a cost savings. The price range to make your own basket is about $5.00 – skies the limit. One negative aspect is that you will have the shipping or delivery hassle to deal with. If you don’t price around, it could eat whatever cost savings you made from using your own merchandise. Should you choose to make your own gift basket here are a few tips to get you started.

    • You will want a theme basket or box, a camera buff, for instance would be able to use a photo box; a fisherman, a tackle box; a child could use a fabric lined basket as a toy box, etc.. Perhaps the lucky gift receiver is a photographer or fisherman.

    • Now that you have decided on a theme, purchase 3 large items for starters. Let’s stick with the photographer. For this individual, choose a camera case, lenses for their camera, a flip style photo album, or if you have money, a camera or lens that they have mentioned.

    • To add to the gift basket buy 4 more items. For a fisherman, this might include lures, and a reel . These are just a few suggestions.

    • To wrap it all up throw in some treats. For a child, a few ideas would be fruit roll-ups, jewelry, die-cast cars, hair ties, fancy shoelaces, or their favorite treat (as approved by their parents).

    • Use glue dots (available at Michaels or local craft stores) to secure all items in place. Don’t get out-of-control with them, one or two per item is all that is needed. Put the big items in first. Then glue down medium sized objects, and the smaller stuff as filler around the bottom. Think pyramid as you are making the basket.

    • Finally, purchase a large piece of cellophane, or if you are a real go getter, a roll of basket wrap. Bring the corners to the top and secure with a small section of ribbon.

    • For the perfect topper, a bow at the top will create a gift that is both festive and stylish.

If you have stuff that you want to put into a gift basket, but don’t have the time to build one yourself, find a company that will do it for you. Many times there are companies that can both assemble and attach a bow to a basket that you have basically created. This option ranges in cost.

Gift baskets can bring together a number of ideas, and goods. They are beautiful and universal. All age ranges, and interests can be covered and encompassed in just one gift.

An excellent source for Coffee Gift Baskets is Nectar of Life Organic Coffee Company. Nectar of Life not only offers coffee, but they sell a wide selection of gift baskets.

Christmas can be the most financially difficult time of the year. Nevertheless, there are countless ways to find reasonable priced Christmas presents.

    Craft It

If you are a do-it-yourselfer or possess any special abilities, you can create a present. For example, if you weave you can make the person a sweater. If you are a closet rhymester or song writer, pen a limerick or song about the recipient. Sing or read the song or poem and have the original framed.

    Coupon

A hand made coupon book might be a an appreciated X-Mas present idea. Put together special coupons for doing errands, organizing, and clean-up for the recipient. You might offer to arrange their pictures into albums, do a week’s worth of chores, or clean their room. If the recipient is a spouse you could present romantic treats such as foot massages and date nights. A coupon book can be made by printing off clear certificates that can be found on the web and put together with staples or string.

    Gift Baskets

If you’re shopping for a present for an entire family, and have no idea what they like, a gift basket may be the ideal answer. You can fill an affordable basket with homemade cookies or muffins, small packages of coffee, coffee mugs, and ripened fruit. You might also want to think about garden decor gifts such as birdhouses, bird baths, or garden statues. A youngster might like a gift basket full of activity books from the thrift store. Some ideas might be crayons, rubber balls, jump ropes, balloons, multicolored windmills, teddy bears, play clay, and candy.

Teenage girls might like a gift basket consisting of hair ties, clips, combs, eye shadow, nail polish, and a magazine or two. A new mother may like a gift basket consisting of pampering bath gels, hand creams, and ointment. If you are able, add a gift card to a spa, beauty salon, or a department store. The key thing is that you incorporate thoughtful Christmas gift ideas that take into consideration what the person enjoys.

    Treasure Trunks

Children like receiving treasures, so why not offer them a treasure chest? This Holiday gift idea is simple and you can include items from discount stores, online stores, and even your own home.  To start, locate a chest with a safety cover. This can be a decorated plastic container, cardboard box, or an actual chest. Then, decide upon a theme. If your theme is dress-up, you could fill the chest with necklaces, hats, used clothes, pretend wands and swords, footwear, bows, and flags. Several, Some other, A few theme ideas include pirates, princesses, knights, nature, astronauts, or extraterrestrial.

Hence, with a bit of thinking you can come up with unique Holiday presents that are relatively low cost. All it takes is a little bit of research to find out what the persons interests are, if you don’t already have an idea what they are, and a visit to the nearest convenience store. Always remember, it’s the thought that matters.
